I started this as a place to write down recipes and thoughts for my family. A quieter alternative to a cookbook. Somewhere to put the things I didn’t want to forget.

Somewhere along the way, I got distracted by the noise of social media, wondering which lane I fit in, trying on versions of this that never quite felt like me. So I’ve come back to what it was always for.

I’m Eva. A cook, a writer, with a knack for building websites and kitchens, and a lifelong wanderer between cultures. My mother was Norwegian, my 94-year-old father is Mexican, and I spent years living in London, Boulder, Fishers Island, and Los Angeles before landing, for a while, on Portugal’s Atlantic coast. Europe isn’t foreign to me — parts of it feel like coming home. Which is fitting, because home has never been one place for me.

My husband and I move through the world in long stretches of weeks and months, exploring a place before moving on to the next. Not escape, but expression. Exploration keeps us curious, vital, and grateful. We’re in our sixties, and we’re just getting started.

Here you’ll find seasonal recipes, stories from my many kitchens, past and present, and honest reflections on belonging and what it means to live well without being rooted to one place. I may occasionally write about health — I live with an autoimmune disease and have learned a great deal about how food and rhythm support a body, but always from science, never from trend.

I wake up every morning, sip a latte, and write.

I’m glad you’re here.
